Started from Numazu station at 9:00AM. There is a famous spring coming from Mt.Fuji, “Kakitagawa spring" park on the way(pic.1). You can watch very clear water coming out of the underground here and there. After there, soon started climbing toward Hakone mountains. You can see Mt.Fuji on the right hand side and if you want, you can drop in “Mishima-sky walk(pic.2)“, suspension brigde for Mt.Fuji view. On that day, the weather was not good and I couldn’t see Fuji.. After that point, steep angle will continue till “Hakone pass", from which you can see Lake Ashino-ko(pic.3).
Hakone is one of the most famous hot spring tourist area in Japan, so pls refer to every kind of guide book to enjoy there. For biker, it’ll be tough to come but you don’t have to mind traffic jams often happening here. You can go lake(pic.4) round, “Owakudani", with your bikes.
After lunch, I started at lakeside and again started climbing to “Kowakudani" which has many famous hot spring hotels. From that point, the road becomes narrower, steeper and slippy. Big busses will often come by. I didn’t have room to enjoy the sight but you can meet mountain train at some points. So at “Miyanoshita" station(pic.6), I took a rest to enjoy a famous sweet (Naraya CAFE(pic.5), who serves hot spring for foot with sweet) and to see the railway.
After Miyanoshita, the traffic becomes busier till the road becomes flat. Pls be careful ! In Odawara city, you can enjoy Odawara castle and fashionable towns (ref. C-3) , though I should go back to my home.
